Man murders brother, then commits suicide: New details about unprecedented tragedy near Sombor
Sinisa Trnjakov and his brother Radovan Trnjakov - who brutally murdered him before killing himself - will be buried in two different cemeteries in the village of Stapar, near the town of Sombor in northern Serbia.
Sinisa will be laid to rest on May 2, while Radovan will be buried tomorrow.
In the comments on social networks, the locals are offering support to the mother and other members of the family, who are affected by this tragedy.
The deadly incident happened yesterday in the mother's house. The woman is a retired teacher and was told by her sons to go to the store, just before the crime took place.
They took advantage of mother's absence
The brothers, who did not live together - Sinisa lived in Stapar, while Radovan lived in Apatin - yesterday arrived at the house, where the mother lives alone.
"They sent the mother to the store in the morning and that's when this evil happened. Radovan shot Sinisa and killed him instantly, and then he shot himself," neighbors said.
Upon returning from the store, the mother encountered the horrific scenes, and was shortly after taken to the neighbors.
Radovan survived the suicide attempt and was rushed to the Clinical Center of Vojvodina in Novi Sad with serious injuries, where he died a short while later.
Motive still unknown
Although the neighbors say that the brothers, as in any family, had occasional disagreements, they are unaware of anything that suggested this outcome. Locals claim that the brothers were not involved in any major dispute.
The murder victim, Sinisa, was until recently involved in local politics.
