EU's Antonio Costa to visit Western Balkans from June 1 to June 5, to be in Belgrade June 4
President of the European Council Antonio Costa will tour the Western Balkans from June 1 to 5 in order to meet with regional leaders, and to co-chair the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Tivat, Montenegro. As part of that visit, he will be in Belgrade on June 4, the EU has announced.
The focus of the visit will be discussions about the opportunities and challenges related to EU enlargement, gradual integration, regional cooperation, security and stability.
Costa will begin his visit to the Western Balkans in Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 1, a day later he will visit Albania and North Macedonia, and then Pristina on June 3.
On Thursday, June 4, Costa will visit Belgrade.
Antonio Costa will end his tour of the countries of the Western Balkans in Montenegro, where he will co-chair the EU-Western Balkans Summit on June 5, the theme of which is, "Shared prosperity and stability of the EU and the Western Balkans".
"My second tour of the Western Balkans sends a clear signal: EU's commitment to the region is real, as real as the opportunity for enlargement. The momentum is there. Now is the time for results," Costa has said.
