For 11 days, Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija protest in support of the arrested directors of institutions
Health and educational institutions employees gathered today in the Serb enclave Gracanica and in the surrounding places to attend rallies in support of the Serbs, directors of educational and health institutions, that have been arrested in Kosovo and Metohija.
Employees held a peaceful half-hour protest in support of the arrested managers in front of the internal medicine and pediatric clinic in Laplje Selo.
Support rallies were also held today by the KBC Pristina employees with temporary headquarters in Gracanica, who are protesting the unlawful arrest of Director Bratislav Lazic, as well as several others.
Peaceful protests also continued in front of the Healthcare Center in Gracanica and in Gusterica, Elementary School Braća Aksic in Lipljan, Elementary School Kralj Milutin in Gracanica, Elementary School Miladin Mitic in Laplje Selo, Secondary School Center in Laplje Selo, Elementary School Sveti Sava in Susica, Grammar School and Agricultural High School from Lipjan with temporary headquarters in Lepina, Secondary Mechanical School in Preoc, Elementary School in Ugljar near Kosova Polje, as well as in other educational and healthcare institutions in the territory of the municipality of Gracanica.
Rallies in support of the arrested Serbs have been held for the 11th day, and it has been announced that they will last until those now in jail have been released.
The Basic Court of the provisional institutions in Pristina on Thursday ordered the seven arrested directors of Serbian educational and healthcare institutions from the Gracanica municipality to be kept in detention for 30 day.
They were detained on May 19 because they allegedly committed the crime of "violation the free choice of voters", and the prosecution of the Pristina institutions announced that they were detained based on the claims made by Minister of Communities and Return Nenad Rasic, who said they allegedly threatened voters ahead of the June 7 elections in Kosovo and Metohija.
