President Vucic meets with Angolan counterpart Lourenco: New chapter in friendship between Serbia and Angola

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke today with Angolan President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco, who is on an official visit to Serbia, to say he believes that Lourenco's visit will contribute to the strengthening of political and economic relations between Serbia and Angola and improvement of cooperation in numerous areas.

"I extended a warm welcome to the president of Angola and expressed my satisfaction over the opening of a new chapter in the friendship between our countries, which is deeply rooted in the heritage of the Non-Aligned Movement and is based on mutual respect, understanding and support," Vucic stated in a post on the "buducnostsrbijeav" Instagram account.

Vucic expressed his belief that Lourenco's visit will provide additional impetus to the traditional friendship, contribute to the strengthening of political and economic relations between Serbia and Angola, as well as to improvement of cooperation in numerous areas of mutual interest.

Lourenco is on an official visit to Serbia from June 8 to 10, and was last evening welcomed at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport by FM Marko Djuric, as well as in an official ceremony earlier today by President Vucic in front of the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade.

The president of Angola was welcomed with top state honors, a red carpet, the sounding of the national anthems of the two countries, and the honor guard of the Serbian Army.
