Aerial view of NEW BELGRADE DISASTER: Drone films horrible scenes as flames engulf Enjub shopping mall

The battle to put out a fire that broke out in the Enjub TC shopping center in Block 45 in New Belgrade has been going on for several hours as of Monday morning.

Although the fire broke out shortly after 06:00, the situation on the ground is still extremely critical. Drones have also arrived, and the latest aerial footage shows the scale of the disaster that has brought traffic in this part of the city to a standstill.

The latest bird's-eye view video shows a terrifying sight: a huge, thick plume of black smoke rises high above New Belgrade and is visible from almost all parts of the Serbian capital. The roof of the mall is completely engulfed in the flames.

There were 40 firefighters-rescuers at the scene before the noon, who were making superhuman efforts to contain the fire. Equipped with heavy equipment and protective masks, these brave men are fearlessly plunging directly into the thick smoke.

As we have learned at the scene, the firefighters are cutting the roof structures in order to reach the hotspot and extinguish the fire from the inside.

According to eyewitnesses, the blaze engulfed a number of stores. The biggest problem is precisely the roof, which is constantly smoldering and burning, and the drama is all the greater because the firefighters are trying to "cut" the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the remaining buildings connected in a row.

Traffic collapse and urgent warning to residents

While the firefighters are working, there is a state of emergency around the mall. Residents in the surrounding buildings have been urged to keep their windows because of high concentration of toxic smoke in the air.

Traffic in Jurija Gagarina Street has come to a complete halt, and vehicles are being diverted.

Ambulance crews are also on duty at the scene as a precaution. Fortunately, according to official information so far, there are no casualties.
