President Aleksandar Vucic has responded to Sasa Stojanovic, who published horrific threats aimed against him on Facebook yesterday, for which Stojanovic got arrested.

Vucic released a video showing Stojanovic's threats on his Instagram account and said, among other things, that he does not feel threatened and that he will extend his hand and forgive him for "the terrible things he has said".

"Sasa Stojanovic, who lives in Belosevac near Kragujevac, I am sure, is not this bad, and he is not the kind of criminal he wanted to present himself to be. I am sure, because what he said is the result of manipulation by those who wanted to divide Serbia, those who divided our families, those who wanted to destroy our beloved fatherland through their mainstream media, social networks, with huge money arriving from abroad. Sasa Stojanovic is just one of the people who succumbed to their pressure, their lies," Vucic said in a post on his Instagram account.

He added that he is neither a prosecutor nor a judge.

"And no matter how disgusting this is to listen to, I will try to help him procedurally and legally. I can, not because I am the president, but because I was the target of such a heinous threat. And I will say, and it certainly helps him: that I don't feel threatened. I don't feel threatened because I'm sure that in him hides, after all, a good head of the household, a good Sumadija man, who was misled by someone using terrible lies, horrible untruths. And I look forward to him, in half a year, or a year, saying not, 'I'm sorry, president', but, 'I'm sorry, Aleksandar', to him being happy about the new northern bypass around Kragujevac, that Stellantis in Kragujevac is perhaps the most successful Stellantis plant in the world today," said Vucic.

"I don't want to divide families, I don't want to divide Serbia"

The president added that the government managed to build a market and roads (in Kragujevac) despite huge skepticism.

"The construction of the Clinical Center in Kragujevac will start soon. And I'm always ready, even at the opening of the bypass, to extend my hand to him (Stojanovic) and to forgive him personally for all the terrible things he said, because I don't want to divide families, I don't want to divide Serbia, I want us all together, united around the same table and around love for our fatherland," said Vucic and concluded, "In the end, we will win and unite Serbia".
