The Belgrade police are intensively searching for one or more perpetrators, after the body of a 73-year-old man was discovered in an apartment in the Belgrade neighborhood of Karaburma, Telegraf.rs has learned.

The body of the victim, G.R. (73), was found in an apartment located in the attic of a residential building. According to initial and unofficial information from the investigation, everything points toward the man being the victim of a brutal murder.

The Telegraf.rs portal reporter has learned that the scene in the apartment was extremely shocking. The body was found on a mattress, completely naked, while the victim's hands were tightly tied behind his back.

Investigation ongoing, neighbors stunned

There are a large number of police officers and the on-duty prosecutor at the scene this morning. Plainclothes inspectors are searching through the building, collecting any evidence they can find that could help identify and arrest suspects.

The frightened neighbors say that the victim lived alone in an apartment in the attic.

By order of the prosecution, the body has been transferred to the Institute for Forensic Medicine for autopsy. The police investigation is ongoing.
