A large number of people gathered today in Belgrade, in the Church of St. Luka, as the body Ratko Mladic, who will be laid to rest today, was lying in repose, and among those gathered, a large number of public figures are paying their respects to the general.

His son Darko and family members were the first to bow before the coffin, followed by Mladic's closest comrades. Darko Mladic, his mother Bosiljka and granddaughter Anastasija are receiving condolences.

The president of the New Democratic Party of Serbia, Milos Jovanovic, was seen today in the crowd of people who came to attend the funeral, as well as Aleksandar Vulin and Danica Grujicic.

In addition, former Serb military officer Veselin Sljivacanin was also there.

Members of Russia's Night Wolves motorcycle club also arrived at Ratko Mladic's funeral and the Telergaf team reporting from the church filmed them arriving in large numbers.

A delegation of the Democratic People's Party of Montenegro was also seen, consisting of Montenegrin Assembly member and member of the party's presidency Vladislav Bojovic, as well as President of the Municipality of Zeta and member of the party presidency Mihailo Asanovic. On behalf of party leader Milan Knezevic, who is attending previously scheduled activities in the US, his brother Mirko showed up in Belgrade today.

Among those who came to see Ratko Mladic off to his eternal rest was Serbian actor Slobodan Custic, who was wearing black.

The son of the president of the Republic of Serbia, Danilo Vucic, was among the large number of mourners today.

The president of Tivat municipality in Montenegro, Zeljko Komnenovic, as well as the vice-president of the Executive Committee of the Serb Radical Party, Vjerica Radeta, were seen at the church.

Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selakovic, also came to pay his respects to Mladic.

A delegation of Red Star has also arrived.

It includes the president of the football club - Svetozar Mijailovic, operational director Marko Petrovic, member of the Board of Directors Zoran Avramovic, as well as legendary footballer Bosko Djurovski. Miljko Ristic was also there, while Zvezdan Terzic did not come.

Another Red Star legend Dragan Bogavac is present.

Serbian Minister of Defense Bratislav Gasic is in attendance, as well as Mayor of Banja Luka Drasko Stanivukovic.

The former commander of the Army of the Serb Republic (VRS) Ratko Mladic died on August 27, at the age of 84 in the detention unit in Scheveningen.

Mladic died in the custody of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals.

Ratko Mladic was born on March 12, 1942 in the village of Bozinovici near Kalinovik, now a town in the Serb Republic (RS, the Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina). He graduated from the KoV Military Academy and the Command and Staff Academy as one of the best in his class.

Mladic started his military career in Skopje, now North Macedonia, in 1965, and during his service in the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) he was in 1992 promoted to the rank of general-lieutenant.
