Ratko Mladic is laid to rest
After a gun salute performed by members of the Serbian Army, and the sounding of Serbia'a national anthem, General Ratko Mladic was laid to rest in Belgrade's Topcider cemetery.
Previously, his son Darko Mladic gave a speech dedicated to his father. The funeral procession consisting of thousands of people had moved from the Church of St. Luka towards the cemetery.
Orthodox funeral rites were served at the church, with Serbian Patriarch Porfirije leading the ceremony.
Ratko Mladic is buried next to his daughter Ana Mladic.
The general died on August 27, aged 84, in a hospital in the Hague, where he was serving a life sentence pronounced by the former ICTY.
