Vucic welcomes president of Uzbekistan in ceremony in front of Palace of Serbia

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today formally welcomed President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the first president of that country to officially visit Serbia.

The ceremony took place in front of the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade. It included thehonor guard of the Serbian Army and the sounding of the national anthems.

The president of Uzbekistan was also welcomed by Serbian cabinet ministers Sinisa Mali, Marko Djuric, Jagoda Lazarevic, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, Aleksandra Sofronijevic, Dragan Glamocic, Nikola Selakovic, Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski, Sara Pavkov, Boris Bratina, Zoran Gajic, Nenad Popovic.

The welcome was followed by a tete-a-tete meeting between the presidents.

After that, members of the two delegations led by Vucic and Mirziyoyev will meet, and then exchange bilateral documents and sign the Joint Statement between Serbia and Uzbekistan on the establishment of strategic partnership relations.

Mirziyoyev will later in the afternoon receive the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a large necklace.

This will be followed by the presentation of the future Taskent (Tashkent) Street in Belgrade which will be attended by both presidents. The Serbia-Uzbekistan Business Forum will be held afterwards.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Belgrade yesterday and was welcomed at the Nikola Tesla airport by President Vucic and his wife Tamara.
