Pristina authorities continue demolition of Serb-owned property near Gazivode

Demolition of buildings owned by Serbs began this morning on the shore of Lake Gazivode, in Medjedji Potok, after the deadline set by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of the provisional institutions in Pristina to "release the property" expired at the end of August.

Pristina claims that the buildings were built on land owned by them.

The so-called of the Kosovo police for the northern region confirmed that the demolition is underway, but it was not stated how many buildings will be demolished.

Last week, in Rezala, by order of the company Ibar-Lepenac, several buildings were demolished, as well as the Holy Trinity hall, which the locals had built themselves.

Earlier, at the request of the Ibar-Lepenac company, 17 buildings owned by Serbs were demolished close to Lake Gazivode, which the company claimed were built on land it owns.

The buildings were demolished illegally, without a court decision, even though some of the owners launched legal proceedings against the company Ibar-Lepenac.
