Vucic comments on incident in Belgrade: Sapic is to blame, he should have stayed away, he is a public official

Candidate for Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, who also heads the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" parliamentary election list, today commented on last night's incident where the mayor of Belgrade,Aleksandar Sapic, is reported to have physically attacked councilor Tanja Micic from the Kreni Promeni movement.

"I spoke with Sapic last night, he told me his version of the events, and I had told the main board (of the SNS) in Nis unequivocally, stay away from incidents, and when I see a woman being attacked, that is the most terrible thing for me, and he (Spaic) said her husband attacked him," Vucic said, and added:

"Sapic is to blame, he should have stayed away, you hold public office, cross to the other side of the street, but you must not take part in that, the responsibility is solely on Sapic and indisputably that was a provocation, but you must not respond in that way..."

"If he had known how it would all end up, he would have run to the other side of the street," added Vucic, saying that these were Manojlovic's party activists and that they would continue to do this type of thing, "but you (Sapic) were not to participate in that, that's what I told him."

Vucic, who on Sunday resigned as Serbia's president, is today touring consturction works on the Brestovac-Seliste road near Lake Bor and the town of Bor.

"I'm happy and this is very important! Those 21 kilometers are very important for us, and I think people are satisfied, it's important for all the people in Bor and everyone was asking for that road, it cost a lot of money!", said Vucic.
