The Monument to Courage. A memorial to the soldiers of the Čačak Detachment fallen during world war two. The unit was one of the first to stand up to the Axis aggressors, conducting guerilla operations in the area until the Germans were pushed out of Čačak in December 1944. The monument can be found on the outskirts of the small village of Ostra, near Čačak, Serbia. #ostra #monument #spomenik #spomenikdatabase #serbia #cacak #čačak #titospartisans #winter #snow #ice #urbex #urbanexploration #abandoned #abandonedplaces #urbexbynight #lightpainting #lightpaintingphotography #nightphotography #night #longexposure #longexposures #explorethenight #longexposurephotography #fatalframes #nikon #nikond800 #nikon1424A post shared by Mark O'Neill (@markoneill_nightphotography) onView this post on Instagram
The Stone Flower of Jasenovac. A huge concrete monument to the victims of the brutal concentration camp which stood on this site. On a warm summer's evening, the mosquitos raise from the adjacent lake by the cloud and genuinely made it difficult to breathe without choking on them. This then became a rather brief adventure which left me itching for weeks. #monument #monuments #jasenovac #croatia #yugoslavia #exyugoslavia #stoneflower #spomenik #spomenikdatabase #concrete #dusk #twilight #nightphotography #night_shots_ #nightscape #nightscapes #night #longexposure #longexposurephotography #longexposures #lightpainting #paintingwithlight #backlight #silhouette #ambientlight #nikon #nikond810 #nikon1424 #fatalframes #architectureA post shared by Mark O'Neill (@markoneill_nightphotography) onView this post on Instagram
Čak i u svom trenutnom stanju oni nameću poštovanje. Oni ponosno stoje unutar balkanskog pejzaža, a njihove forme odgovaraju stilu mojih fotografija, jer ja koristim svetlo da definišem strukture i naglasim teksturu - kaže ovaj fotograf.
The Monument to the Fallen Soldiers of the Kosmaj Detachment, on a cold January night. With clear skies and temperatures of -17C and below, the conditions were perfect for photographs. The cameras didn't agree - things stopped working and they soon froze over. When the time came to go to bed, it would have been a good idea to have booked a hotel... It wasn't a good time to be going hobo. #spomenik #kosmaj #monjment #monuments #serbia #yugoslavia #VojinStojić #night #nightphotography #night_shots_ #night_shooterz #longexposurephotography #longexposure #stars #fog #snow #winter #concrete #D800 #nikon1424 #nikon #ambientlighting #travel #travelgram #instatravel #travelbynight #archit#architecture #architecturephotographyA post shared by Mark O'Neill (@markoneill_nightphotography) onView this post on Instagram
To commence a week long trend, a storm followed dusk across the sky on my first whole day in Croatia, swallowing up the last of the daylight as quickly as I wolfed down the remains of last night's dodgy pasta thing. I rushed the entire mile along the road from my cosy little house to the monument. It felt silly to drive, but distant memories reminded me there is nowhere to hide from the rain here. I'd had the scene to myself for half an hour or so when I saw those distinctive headlights pull off the main road and the rest of the night became a blur. A few more storms passed, the stars faded and the sun rose before we even saw eachothers' faces for the first time, but by then we were like old friends. A very refreshing night spent with @eyes.above.horizon and @zeldaprozekphotography. #monumenttotherevolution #dušandžamonja #dusandzamonja #monument #monumental #spomenik #spomenikdatabase #night #nightphotography #nightshot #darkness #yugoslavia #croatia #moslavina #podgaric #dawn #longexposure #mountains #forest #concrete #torchlight #handheldlighting #lightpainting #lightpainting #lightpaintingphotography #singleexposure #d810 #storm #lightning #stormchasingA post shared by Mark O'Neill (@markoneill_nightphotography) onView this post on Instagram
Time se dobijaju drugačije slike nego danju.
Fireball over the Tjentište Spomenik in Bosnia and Hecegovina. Whilst framing up for a moonlit image of the Monument, our eyes became locked on the object as it crashed through the atmosphere, right in front of us. We exchanged superlatives for a few minutes until we felt and heard the deep rumble of a huge, distant explosion shake us. As the shockwave passed over, every cricket in the valley fell silent for a brief moment. In the few seconds we had to watch the meteor, the past became a blur and I had no idea whether my shutter was going to open or close when I pressed the shutter release. I was lucky to capture it on a test shot, at ISO 51200. Image is straight from the camera. #BosniaAndHercegovina #Sutjeska #Tjentište #Spomenik #Meteor #Fireball #LongExposure #SingleExposure #MarkONeill #astroworld #Astro #Astronomy #Astrophotography #Urbanromantix #fatalframes #Wanderlust #Travelgram #Light_junkies #Nikon #D810 #moonlight #nightshot #nightphotography #travel #travelgram #longexposurephotography #architecture #archdaily #toplongexposure @nasapod @nasaA post shared by Mark O'Neill (@markoneill_nightphotography) onView this post on Instagram
