Showtime Serbia crushes Slovenia: Jokić and company dominate Dončić in Belgrade blowout

The Serbian national basketball team showcased its power against Slovenia in the Belgrade Arena in a warm-up game for the European Championship, with the final score being 106-72.

Serbia’s dominance was evident right from the start of the game, as Slovenia scored its first basket only after the Eagles had already built a 10–0 lead — and it had to be Luka Dončić from the corner, since Serbia’s defense completely shut down all other options.

Serbia’s dominance was clear, as Slovenia struggled in every aspect of the game. Omić was no obstacle for Jokić, and even Dončić couldn’t do much against Serbia’s team defense.

The second quarter was even more brutal for Slovenian fans, as the Dragons simply couldn’t manage anything at all. The score in that period was 31:13, and by halftime it was 64:36.

The third quarter continued to reflect Serbia’s dominance, with the lead stretching to as much as 40 points. However, thanks to some quick points from Omić at the end of the quarter, Slovenia managed to slightly reduce a margin that was otherwise inexplicable.

At one moment, the camera caught Luka Dončić looking visibly frustrated—perhaps more than ever before. I doubt we’ve ever seen him like that before.

In the fourth quarter, Serbia slowed down, which allowed the difference to drop from its peak of 40 points, but the overall impression remained one of Serbia’s overwhelming superiority.

Nikola Jokić played a fantastic game, finishing with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Bogdan Bogdanović added 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Tristan Vukčević ended the game with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Nikola Jović contributed 18 points and 7 rebounds.

Luka Dončić had a poor shooting night, scoring just 17 points on 4/18 shooting from the field, including 2/10 from beyond the arc.
