Rama spoke on Monday after his talks with Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, to say that several agreements signed on March 23 covered security, culture and agriculture - and represented "national unification".

He promised that Kosovo Albanians would not wait in line at the border crossings with Albania during the summer, as this would resemble the formal controls seen at EU borders, Beta reported.

The Albanian prime minister also announced the opening of a joint consulate in the Italian city of Milan.

Following a joint session of the governments of Kosovo and Albania, the ministers signed a total of 11 agreements, including an agreement on strengthening cooperation in the area of internal controls, a protocol on shared use of border control equipment, a memorandum of cooperation between the finance ministries, an agreement on the joint organization of Albanian language teaching for the diaspora and for displaced persons, Tanjug said.

- I would like to say that this represents our national unification through the EU - Rama said.
