UEFA has announced that the Football Federation of Serbia (FSS) has submitted a bid for the 2028 Europa League final game to be played at the new National Stadium in Belgrade.

In addition to Belgrade, France's Lyon and Paris, Italy's Turin and Romania's Bucharest are competing for to win the right to host the Europa League final in 2028.
UEFA announced that the candidatures are not binding, and that final proposals must be submitted along with the necessary documentation by June 10, 2026. The UEFA Executive Committee will decide on the city that will host the 2028 Europa League final in September 2026.
The National Stadium in Belgrade is currently under construction and it is necessary to finish the works in time in order to win the right to organize such an event.
The news about the candidacy is encouraging and truly one of the most important of the year, when it comes to football in Serbia.
