BAD NEWS: A 600 year old oak tree will still be cut down! (PHOTO)

Protests by various citizens' associations, a number of citizens and eminent personalities,  to not cut down the old Oak tree more than 600 years old, appear to have not borne fruit. This tree will been cut down to allow for the pass of the highway Preljine - Ljig. Even though this tree is bound by many stories and one of them is that it is haunted, it seems that the old oak tree's life will come to an end.

Namely, the contractor was ordered to continue work in the area of ​​the old oak according to the project and the works, which means that there will be no relocation of the route in order to surpass the tree. Consequently the promises of politicians, precisely Velimir Ilic, Minister of Emergency Situations, will not be filled.

Two years ago, Ilic, in his capacity as Minister of Construction and Urban Planning said:

However, the old oak will not be circumvented, but cut down. Question is, who will do it, due to the aforementioned curse ... In fact, no one dare approach him  with a saw and an ax, and one tragic event has discouraged potential lumberjacks even more. In February this year near the oak tree, a Turkish worker Ekrem Kaplan was killed. A metal shell with a viaduct under construction fell on him.

What will happen when the oak is discarded, nobody knows, but it is known that he would die in the next two to three decades, however, investors cannot afford to wait.
