Polish hooligans are known for their actions and behavior throughout Europe, just like hooligans from the Balkans, so it was kind of to be expected that there would be a clash between the two groups of fans during the game.

The incident was provoked by supporters of the Polish team that, according to information coming from the scene, were chanting "This is Serbia" and "Serbia! Serbia " at Baščaršija. In those moments, there was a clash between two groups of supporters that immediately calmed down, but continued after midnight near the village of Vogošća where Leh fans were stationed.

In that moment, a war erupted on the streets since both parties used everything that fell into their hands. Chairs and torches flew, they hit eachother with batons, broke glass, and the brawl was not stopped even when the police intervened.

The epilogue of the incident left 15 people injured, 9 police officers and 6 polish fans, as stated by the local police. In addition, 5 damaged police cars, six cars that were in the immediate vicinity, as well as the bus that carried supporters from Poznań, with the windows of many shops shattered.

As per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a few Polish fans were hospitalized with minor injuries and one was stabbed. Police were at the scene this morning and will protect the area around the hotel to avoid further conflict.

Interestingly, the sports media reported that the cause of the conflict was not the supporters' chanting of their club, but that they were attacked by about thirty local hooligans.
