20 year old Aleksandar Ilic from Loznica has an unprecedented talent in drawing making him known for his stunning portraits.

- It happens to me sometimes that people do not believe that I drew some art. It seems too realistic to them, but I do not blame them. All the people who follow me can see my first drawings several years ago, and compare. Then they will realize it was all drawn by hand.

When did you paint your first portrait?

- In 2009. I drew my geography teacher and it was a very small drawing. I gave it to her and she was thrilled. I always had the best grade in art so my parents knew since I was little that I was talented. When I finished high school I dedicated myself to drawing. Slowly, my drawings were getting better and better.

Which of your first drawings sparked a lot of attention?

- I think my drawing of a tiger in 2013 drew a lot of attention. My family was thrilled when they saw the picture.

Tell us about your technique of drawing, what accessories do you use? Do you use only graphite pencil or something else too?

- I used quite a lot of things, pencils (4h-9b), mechanical pencils, white pens, ordinary erasers, pencil erasers, battery, cotton balls, Kleenex, many kinds of brushes. That's pretty much it. The rest is all in the technique.

Are people a little skeptical when they look at your drawings? Do they say you might have copied it from somewhere, or drawn it with the help of some sketches?

- It happens to me sometimes that people do not believe that I drew some art. It seems too realistic to them, but I do not blame them. All the people who follow me can see my first drawings several years ago, and compare. Then they will realize it was all drawn by hand.

What is your inspiration? Is it only portraits of famous personalities, or you simply paint what you like the most?

- I am most inspired by music I listen to, that's why most of my drawings are of world famous pop stars, and I always try to make my drawings find their way to them, because I value every comment.

How much did it mean to you when Shakira praised your work and shared it on her Twitter account, does she follow you on social network?

- I will always remember the moment when Shakira saw my drawing and published it on all three social networks. I respect her as a big star and I like her songs. That's why I drew her. She isn't following me yet, but maybe if I draw her again, she will. Besides her, Alyssa Milano, Pink, Rose McGowan, Alexander House, Ina, Cara Delevigne, Martin Garix, Emina, all saw my drawings... Some of them posted my work like Shakira, and I am very grateful to them.

Do you do something else besides drawing, do you have any hobbies?

- I trained folklore 11 years. Since the first grade of primary school. I always loved it. But now I can devote more time to this business.

Tell us, do you plan to master your talent in some art school or art academy, in the country or abroad?

- I do not have any plans as far as academies go, maybe someday. For now I want to perfect my talent.

Do people call and order drawings from you, do you charge them and what was your first fee?

- I started taking orders two years ago, then the price was 10 euros for a portrait. Then I drew a lot worse than I do today. Now, it's a larger figure. People from all over the world contact me and order drawings. Both from Serbia and from America, Australia, Germany, Croatia. I plan to someday make an official website. I think it's necessary for any serious artist. I'll see how things progress, I do not want to rush and plan things in advance. Investing effort always pays off.

How much time do you need to draw a portrait?

- It depends, if the order is for one person in the A4 format, it can take about 2 days, depending on the picture and the details in it. When I'm working for myself I always take longer. Before I used to do portraits for one to two days. Now I need more time. For instance, I worked on Johnny Depp for about four days, 30 hours, while for Shakira I think I needed more than 150 hours, maybe even 200, I have not exactly figured it out.
