In a village Oplanic there are two hens who have been carrying exclusively green eggs for months, even though they eat the same food as the rest of them
Two out of 15 hens from the household of Dragan Mitrovic from village Oplanic, Serbia, have been laying exclusively green eggs.

All the other hens are laying eggs of regular color, just the two of them are laying green.
Dragan Mitrovic said that the regular and green eggs are of the same taste, the only difference is in the color of the crust.
He explained that all the hens live in the same space, and they roam during the day, eating the same food.
- They all live the same way, I am not even sure when I take a look, which of them lay green eggs. Everything is the same, they are all living with two roosters. The only problem is that these roosters do not like each other. It is still a mystery for me what makes them carry those eggs.
- Some say it is because those hens prefer green food to corn and wheat. Vets told me that the reason lies in the minerals they take, but they all take the same minerals. How can I know what they like more to eat - said Mitrovic for Telegraf internet portal.
Science says that hens lay eggs in different crust color due to a pigment stored in the egg-way of the hen.
Pigment is determined by the genetics of the hen, so some can lay brown, where as some may lay green or blue eggs.
Those eggs are perfectly the same, and there is no difference in taste.
American chicken Araucanian lays eggs with blue crust.
On the other hand, the "Easter hen" lays blue and green eggs, sometimes even brown or pink.
She is not the pure race, but a mixture.
There are those who swear that green crust eggs have less cholesterol than others, and there are those who eat these eggs convinced that there is no cholesterol at all!
Veterinarians have a clear point about the color of the crust.
Anyhow, the wife of this household will not have problems to paint Easter eggs, because she has had green eggs for months.
