Worst traffic accident in Belgrade ever: Truck collided with bus, 27 bodies pulled out river

A bus collided with a truck and fell into the Sava River

Post-war Belgrade began to develop rapidly, traffic became increasingly dense, and where there is traffic, there are accidents.

The most serious traffic accident in Belgrade happened on November 16, 1967 in Duboka near Umka, writes the Kaldrma BGD page.

"On a sharp rising curve, a truck whose breaks had failed collided with an inter-city bus that had departed from the Belgrade station: the impact was so strong that the bus fell into the Sava River. As many as 27 bodies of passengers were later pulled out of the sunken wreckage," Kaldrma BGD writes.
