The Airbus plane returned to Belgrade due to a bomb tip-off

A plane that took off today from the Belgrade airport and was on its way to Moscow urgently returned to the Serbian capital due to a report that there was a bomb on board, Telegraf.rs has learned.

As we have learned, the a message arrived by e-mail as the plane was in the air; the message alleged there was an explosive device inside it.

There were 209 passengers and crew on board. The plane was immediately evacuated after landing at the Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport, and special teams started to search it.

Telegraf.rs has learned that the counter-sabotage team of the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and the SAJ anti-terror unit were at the scene, and that police dogs were also used to search the plane.

The plane took off from the Belgrade airport shortly after 2 pm, only to be redirected and returned soon after. The plane landed back in Belgrade at 2:48 pm and was immediately hauled to a special position on the runway for inspection.
