President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has received a message on the occasion of the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays (Serbia and Russia celebrate Christmas on January 7) from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The message reads:

"Dear Mr. President, I warmly congratulate you on the coming New Year and Christmas. Regardless of the difficult situation in the world, relations between Russia and Serbia, which are based on centuries-old traditions of friendship and spiritual closeness, are developing in a constructive spirit.

I count on the continuation of our dialogue and productive joint work on current issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda.

I wish you, your family and loved ones good health, well-being and success, and peace and prosperity to the brotherly Serb people."
