Incident as Vucevic visits Kula: Escort car gets attacked, eggs thrown by those believing he was inside
Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Milos Vucevic said that a small group of people tried to obsturct his visit to the municipality of Kula today by throwing eggs and blowing whistles, but that such people would not prevent him from touring Serbia.
Vucevic told reporters that he proudly accepted the invitation from the president of the Kula municipality and the Church board to be their municipality's "best man," adding that 34 ill-mannered people blew whistles during liturgy, with the aim of disrupting it.
"While the bishop served the liturgy, the church choir sang, the fanatics were blowing whistles in front of the church. That's never happened before. They were surprised that the police did not let them into the church, so I guess they could shoot us and remind us what it was like in 1945," said Vucevic.
According to him, a small group of people tried to obstruct veterans from laying wreaths on a monument to their comrades. That group, according to Vucevic, also cowardly vented their anger by pelting the SNS premises with eggs.
"They attacked the vehicle in my convoy, threw eggs at it thinking that I was inside. On the day of their municipality. Even that kind of thing is unfortunately possible," said Vucevic.
The SNS leader asked everyone taking part in protests and carrying flags with the image of Jesus Christ while singing patriotic songs, what they think about this behavior.
"Since I still haven't heard what those patriots say about Misa Baculov's statement? Well, they won't, because they are not sincere patriots. They only see it as a way to get people on their side more easily. They will not prevent me from visiting the whole of Serbia. We avoided any physical contact, we don't want to be part of such behavior. Instead of celebrating the liberation (from the Nazis) in 1945, they are turning it into 1945. When everyone who bothered them (the new Communist authorities of the time) got liquidated. They obviously have a different belief system," Vucevic said.
