Serb List leader Zlatan Elek has announced that the party has filed an appeal to the election panel for appeals and petitions in Pristina against the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) not to certify the Serb List for elections in Kosovo and Metohija, to be held on December 28.

"Today we filed an appeal against this illegal, illegitimate, and I can freely say anti-Serb decision. We expect that decision to be annulled and our political entity to be confirmed (for elections)," Elek told a press conference held at the headquarters of the Serb List in Kosovska Mitrovica.

On Tuesday, the Central Election Commission in Pristina did not verify the Serb List for participation in the parliamentary elections on December 28.

Two members of the CEC voted in favor of allowing the biggest Serb party in Kosovo and Metohija to participate, two members (from Self-Determination) were against, while seven abstained.

The CEC also initially refused to verify the Serb List for the previous elections for the assembly of the provisional institutions held on February 9, as well as for the local elections on October 12.

It would only reverse these decisions after the Serb List appealed to the same panel, and the Supreme Court in Pristina, which accepted the appeal and ordered the CEC to confirm the party's participation.
