President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday in Davos that Serbia will continue to work rapidly on arming and equipping its Army and pointed out that he believes next year, the Serbian Army will be among the top 50 on the "Global Firepower Index" - where it placed 63rd this year.

"In a swift, strong manner, making huge investments, we want to protect our country, the sovereignty of our country and fight for its survival, to ensure security and peace for our citizens, to deter any potential aggressor," Vucic told reporters in Davos when asked to comment on the latest "Global Firepower Index" where Serbia ranks 63rd and Croatia 74th.

Vucic said that he believes that both Serbia and Croatia deserve a better place on that list and assessed that the strength of the Croatian army was underestimated in that ranking, as well as that everything Serbia has acquired has not been taken into account.

"As I think they didn't consider everything we have and they don't know what we have, so I believe that us and Croatia deserve a better place. Croatia has an very strong army and no one who is serious and responsible should underestimate that," said Vucic.

The president pointed out that Serbia still needs to strengthen its military and added that he will continue to work to that end.
