Another "ice wave" about to hit Serbia, it will bring snow - then weather will change completely
A change of weather is forecast for Serbia starting this evening, while a significant cooling is expected during the weekend.
On Wednesday afternoon, clouds and rain brought on by a cyclone arriving from the central Mediterranean already reached the Adriatic Sea and the Western Balkans, and will reach Serbia by this evening.
This flow from the south continues to bring a warm air mass, so it was 15 degrees Celsius in Loznica in the west of the country, but only 2 degrees in Negotin in the east this afternoon.
Along with the clouds, a cyclone from the central Mediterranean is getting closer to Serbia, so the pronounced pressure gradient will strengthen the southeasterly wind.
During the evening and night, the wind will be moderate to strong, in the Kosava wind area with gale force gusts reaching up to 100 kilometers per hour, specifically in southern Banat.
Rain is expected throughout Serbia during the evening and night, and it will be of moderate intensity. Snow is expected on higher mountains, mostly higher than 1,500 meters above sea level.
Maximum temperatures will range from 8 to 16 degrees, in Belgrade 14.
Starting on Friday, the weather will get colder.
The center of the cyclone will move over the Balkans further to the east, and a cold air mass will penetrate from the north.
It will rain, and snow on the mountains.
Temperature will range from 5 to 9, on Saturday from 3 to 7 degrees, on Sunday from 1 to 5 degrees. During the weekend, sleet and snow are forecast in some places in the lower laying areas.
Monday will be icy cold, with temperatures remaining below 0 degrees around the clock in most areas. Snow will be falling in southern and eastern regions, along strong wind that will be creating blizzards.
But it will get noticeably warmer already on Tuesday, so the rest of the week will be warm for this time of year, with temperatures rising up to 15 degrees Celsius.
