The heatwave in Serbia is not letting up, with temperatures this Tuesday reaching 40 degrees Celsius in some places.

This will last until Friday, with clear skies and temperatures ranging between 35 to 40 degrees, is some places up to 41°C.

On Friday afternoon and towards the end of the day, a weakened cold front is expected to reach the north of the province of Vojvodina, with the wind turning to a very strong northwesterly, as a slightly fresher air mass is also expected to penetrate.

Local showers with thunder are forecast, first in the northern and western regions of Serbia, and there will also be some in the wider area of ​​Belgrade.

During the evening and night, this weakened cold front will also move over central Serbia.

It will not bring a significant change, i.e., a strong cooling or heavy precipitation.

The cooling will be felt least in the south and southeast of Serbia, where it will be hot on Saturday with temperatures up to 35-36 degrees, while it will cool down the most in the north of Serbia, by 5 to 7 degrees, so it will be up to 32-33°C.

On Saturday, local showers with thunder are expected only in some places in the mountainous regions of Serbia.

It will be sunny and hotter again starting on Sunday, but the first few days after will not be as hot as now.

Maximum temperatures on Sunday will range from 30 to 35°C, and then start to rise slightly.

Therefore although we are expecting a minor change in the weather around August 8, this heatwave would last at least until the middle of August, and for now there is no sign of a significant drop in temperatures or of significant precipitation.

The huge precipitation deficit and drought are already more than apparent on our rivers, as the situation on the Danube is alarming.
