A Serb and two of his accomplices, a German (35) and a Dutch (29), were arrested at a hotel near Milan, on the suspicion that they were repeatedly buy and selling stolen gold bars and coins.

This international group, was in fact, tipped off by one of its would-be customers. The buyer from Poland was previously burned when he attempted to sell gold at the Milan airport, when, attracted by the good earnings from the swindling customer, he took took 350, 000 euros in exchange for gold bars and coins.

However, in the envelope he took, were counterfeit euros. When he was contacted last Wednesday by unidentified persons from Milan with a similar offer, the Polish man reported the incident to the police. They advised him to attend the meeting, wired, and with a GPS in the bag. As soon as the sale was made, the police followed the GPS signal and managed to capture the gang. The police arrested an unnamed Serbian citizen (50) in Milan as he tried to use counterfeit banknotes to buy gold worth 800, 000 euros.
