The Black Eagle whom it is not known from where he flew from, spends his days in the company of griffon vulture brothers. The lucky ones who managed to capture a picture of the eagle say that he is always at the top of the cliff, as if commanding the birds from flocks, and so have already dubbed him the "commander".

He is usually seen near the feeding grounds above the dam at Rastoke where the Rangers Reserve Uvac serve meals for about 400 colonies of griffon vultures.

- The Black Eagle is the first in the food chain among eagles vultures, and is followed by the griffon vulture, buzzard and white bradan. He penetrates the skin and eats mainly carcasses of dead cattle. These days, he has made the job easier for the reserve guards who do need not have to slice carcasses for the Griffon vultures to eat the meat of the dead livestock - says Darko Ćirović, advisor to the Special Nature Reserve "Uvac".

- The black vulture, which disappeared from this area about 120 years ago, was seen a few times before, and photographed last spring on Zlatibor. He is considerably larger than the griffon vulture and rightly called the "elder" vulture.  He reaches a weight from 13-14 kilogarama and has a wingspan of 3.2 to 3.4 meters - explains Ćirović
