One couple went to a store in Novo Vidondolski for groceries, and when one spouse wanted to reach for a bottle of mineral water from the shelf, one of the workers screamed: "Snake!"

 - And really, between the bottles we saw a little red snake squirming under the cap. We were all surprised and a little scared, but two brave boys quickly got my bearings and put the serpent into a plastic bag and carried it out of the store - the spouses described the unusual encounter.

They say that the staff was surprised that they were repeatedly apologizing for the inconvenience. It is assumed that the snake on the drink shelf, which is located close to the entrance to the warehouse store, came with the packaging of the truck. Customers, who found themselves in the market, say that the boys put it in a bag, took it out of the store and released it in the wild.

- It was definitely an unusual sight, but it does happen. It's no biggie. What's important is that it ended well, both for the buyers and sellers, as well as for the snake - conclude the spouses from Novi Vinodolski.

The leading Croatian expert for snakes Zoran Tadic said it is difficult to evaluate with photos what snake it is. However, Tadic added that it is possible that it is a nontoxic pattern, whose habitat is dry and rocky places, vineyards...
