HALF OF WEDDING FROM THE GROOMS SIDE ENDED UP IN HOSPITAL BECAUSE OF SALMONELLA: Newlyweds also got sick!

More than 50 people ended up in hospital in Vinkovac, and it is suspected that they are infected with salmonella after they were on a wedding on last Friday in the Barun Trenk restaurant in Vinkovci.

However, it is suspected that greater number of infected, on the wedding in Vinkovci in Croatia was from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zagreb and other parts of Croatia.

According to the portal "Jutarnji.hr", out of 250 brooms guests, more than half asked for medical help. 

- Strong pain, followed with nausea, vomiting and high fever started in the night between Saturday and Sunday. I practically couldn't get out of the bed, and i thought it will be better in time, however, i had to go to ambulance on Monday. They gave me infusion and let me go home because they had more cases that had to be kept for further treatment, and i have to go for few more days to get infusion - said Drazen D. and added that the number of infected people seems to be climbing up because his wife started having pains on Tuesday.

- We did not get any confirmation what is it about, but it's most probably some food served on the wedding. I heard the owner distance himself because, allegedly, the problem was in eggs, but i didn't even eat cakes - added Drazen D.

Newlyweds and their parents wanted medical help as well. 

- I wouldn't like to talk about anything until the investigation is done - said briefly the broom, while from the company Boso, which owns the restaurant, said they don't want to make any statements.

- In Institute of Public Health of Vukovar - Srem county it was confirmed that it has been a case of infection.

- We still don't know what is it about because it is not an isolated incident, and we can presume it is salmonella. According to our information, there were around 450 people on the wedding, and they told us in the hospital that 40-50 people applied for treatment. However, some people probably didn't ask for help - said Jasna Topolovec, epidemiologist from the Institute of Public Health.
