The invention of the three Macedonian innovators, Dr Stefan Stefanov, Dr Vlada Spiridonov and Capa Capovski, which can completely dispel the fog in 10 to 15 minutes, has been sitting in a drawer totally forgotten for 18 years.

Tetovo, Tuzla and Skopje the most polluted cities in Europe

Ministry of economy has declared that innovation for the Patent of the year 2000, and the work won golden EUREKA medal in Brussels the same year, two years later Grand Prix in Budapest.

Despite all of the recognition, invention that dispels fog, which was tested multiple times, remained forgotten, even though Skopje and other Macedonian cities are chocking in fog and smog, especially during winter. One of the innovators, Dr Stefan Stefanovski, who has been retired for 17 years, said the gains of using this device is dispelling of fog and reduction of air pollution, which means much cleaner air.

Their invention is simple and not so expensive, and works on the principle of liquid carbon dioxide burst that changes the physical state of fog, changes the state of fog into crystals and they are gathered on the ground.

This device can be set on vehicles and larger area could be "treated", for example, a city, and it can work as a stationary device. During creation of this device, three innovators mounted the device on vehicle and "processed" the entire right coast of Vardar river in Skopje, and the fog was gone in 10 minutes.

To be completely sure in the efficiency o this patent, they tested it in the Suvodol mine, in the Mining, energy Combine Bitola, and the last time in 2002. on Skopje airport. The results were the same everywhere, the fog was gone in very short notice in the radius of 1.5 kilometers from the place it was used.

Despite that, state institutions were not interested in the application of this patent, and now, in order to reduce the air pollution, they will introduce even and odd driving schedule. Macedonia is one of the most polluted countries in Europe, and the cities that are leading on the charts are Skopje, Tetovo, Bitola and Kumanovo.
