President of United Serbia (JS), member of the Serbian Assembly, president of the City Assembly of Jagodina, and honorary Consul of Greece to Serbia Dragan Markovic Palma met today in Thessaloniki with Theodoros Karaoglou, deputy minister of internal affairs of Greece in charge of Macedonia and Thrace.

During the meeting, Palma said that for some countries Serbia and Greece were good only while they were good hosts to asylum seekers. However, Angela Merkel miscalculated around the number of asylum seekers and would now like to return them to their countries of origin, meaning that Serbia and Greece would again be countries for asylum seekers' transit.

"It seems that Serbia and Greece are needed by some countries only when to solve their problem through them. And when international law and justice are to be respected, especially when it comes to Serbia, those countries pretend to be deaf,” he said.

Markovic said Greece is a friendly country to Serbia, and that it has not recognized Kosovo's independence.

"I am certain that Greece will support Serbia and vote against Kosovo's membership in Interpol and UNESCO, and that as an EU member state, it will ask its friends to do the same," Markovic said.

He stressed that Albanians and their Greater Albanian policy is a threat not only to Serbia but also to Greece. Albanians would like to take a piece of Greece, a piece of Montenegro, and North Macedonia, and a large slice of Serbia.

"Ramush Haradinaj was summoned to the The Hague court that was formed for crimes committed against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. They allowed him to defend himself by remaining silent. Well, Haradinaj was not accused of stealing a tractor, but of murders of a large number of Serbs in which he personally participated, as well as for trafficking in human organs," Palma said.

"He also has personal and command responsibility for crimes against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. Only Serbs have been put on trial for command responsibility. Dick Marty mentions this in his book, as do many other former international officials," he said.

Theodoras Karaoglou thanked Markovic for the fact that every year an increasing number of Serbian tourists visit Greece, and said he would in February take part in the Belgrade Tourism Fair.

Karaoglu said Greece supports Serbia on its European path, while his ministry cooperates with Serbia mostly through Intereg projects.

The delegation led by Dragan Markovic Palma also included Serbia's ambassador to Greece, Dusan Spasojevic, Dragomir Karic, MP and deputy chairman of the Power of Serbia Movement, Goran Milosavljevic, chief of the Pomoravski District, United Serbia vice-presidents Nenad Filipovic and Dejan Manic, Nikola Radosavljevic, President of the City Committee of the Serbian Progressive Party in Jagodina, and Zivota Starcevic, a spokesman for United Serbia.
