Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and US Ambassador Anthony Godfrey spoke today about cooperation between Serbia and the US in dealing with the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, measures for the recovery of the Serbian economy, and on the future economic cooperation between the two countries.

President Vucic and Ambassador Godfrey expressed their regret for the victims of the coronavirus in the US and Serbia, as well as the hope that the precautions taken will have an effect on the control of the infection, the press service of the president of the Republic announced.

The two discussed the cooperation between Serbia and the US in addressing the challenges of the pandemic, as the only way to deal with them is with joint forces.

"Friends like Serbia and the US also rely on each other in uncertain times, such as the time of the pandemic," President Vucic and Ambassador Godfrey agreed during their meeting held at the Presidency of Serbia.

On behalf of the US administration, Ambassador Godfrey thanked President Vucic and the government of Serbia for helping to return American citizens to their homes and families, while President Vucic thanked for the US support to Serbia in combating COVID-19.

President Vucic informed Ambassador Godfrey about the package of measures for the recovery of the Serbian economy from the consequences of the pandemic, stressing that he counts on the contribution of American companies already operating in our market and even more on future investments from the US.

The two interlocutors said they expectated that the two countries' economic cooperation would be strengthened, as well as cooperation in other areas of common interest, discussed during President Vucic's visit to the US in March this year.
