Celebrated Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has been awarded a charter for promoting Serbia and the Serbian people in the world, which was presented to him on the occasion of the Day of Diplomacy by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic.

Djokovic said that every day he tries to represent true values ​​and virtues of life that are deeply rooted not only in his family, but in the entire Serb people, and those are: sacrifice, respect, generosity, equality.

"Just as you all love your country with all your heart and try to promote true traditional and cultural values ​​of your country and your nation in the best possible way in the world, so I love and respect my country and I am aware of the challenges and obstacles I sometimes face because of that," said Djokovic, addressing guests at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among whom were ambassadors  from around the world posted in Serbia.

Djokovic said he was aware of the responsibility and duty that he has to present his country, himself and his family in the best possible light at all times.

"I will continue to love and respect Serbia and my people. I will continue to respect all other peoples of the world, because I believe that when we act in such a way, out of such an emotion, the right thing is done unmistakably ," he concluded.

During the cocktail party after the reception, the biggest crowd gathered around the celebrated Serbian tennis player because the ambassadors wanted to take pictures with him.
