Belgrade will get a network of "smart" telephone booths, and the first 50 will be set up in central Belgrade municipalities as part of the project of digitization of telephone booths, which has been presented in the Science and Technology Park.

The smart booths will also provide information on city services, the city map and public transport lines, and the city's tourist and cultural offerings on interactive touch screens.

The presentation of the project was attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, while the contract on business and technical cooperation regarding the digitization of telephone booths was signed by Telekom Srbija and Strawberry Energy, a pioneer in the development of smart IoT devices and "smart city" solutions.

The project includes replacement of 100 phone booths in Belgrade's central municipalities, and within the first phase, the value of which is 2.5 million euros, the initial 50 phone booths will be replaced in the fall.

Brnabic had the opportunity to learn how future smart phone booths will work by using a "prototype." In addition to phone calls, these will offer free internet, SOS call, and charging of mobile devices.
