Janko for Telegraf: Novak is the best in history if we look at the last 10 years, but...

In the conversation we had a few days ago with our retired tennis player Janko Tipsarevic, we used the opportunity to ask him about how the break due to coronavirus will affect the tennis players' form.

First of all, when it comes to the best three of all time - Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Before the break due to the coronavirus virus pandemic, the Swiss underwent an intervention because of his knees, that recovery is going slower than expected, and Janko claims that Federer's form is questionable because of that.

"I think Federer is a question mark because of the injury. As far as I could hear, he is still recovering and the question is whether and when he will start. I can't say anything about Nadal on the concrete. Every time I doubted him he proved me wrong."

"As for Novak, in order not to put additional pressure on him, I am sure that he is still hungry and thirsty, so I think he will dominate," Janko told Telegraf.

He is not sure how long Novak's domination could last, especially since players like Danilo Medvedev, Sasha Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Matteo Berrettini, Denis Shapovalov are increasingly showing themselves in the best light...

Tipsarevic recalled that Federer is still ahead of Djokovic in the number of Grand Slam titles and the weeks spent at the top of the ATP list, which is the most common parameter when looking at who is the greatest of all time.

"I don't know how many years, but I often say that. At the moment, I can say that Novak is the best of all time if you take the last ten years and everything he has done. According to the records, it is currently Federer, with the number of weeks as the 'number one' and the number of Grand Slams, these are some of the two statistics that are most often taken into account. But when everything is over, I am almost 100 percent convinced that it will be Novak," Tipsarevic said.
