Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali pointed out today that the state has found a way to allocate direct funds to the economy and workers.

"After we paid three minimum wages to 1,050,000 workers in 235,000 business entities over the previous months, we found room to continue with these measures so that in the next two months another 60% of the minimum wage will be paid to workers, while one month's taxes and wage contributions will also be delayed. The first payment will reach workers by August 10, while the second will follow in September. That is about 18 thousand dinars per employee per month, ie about 155 euros," said the minister.

He recalled that the previous support package was worth 5.1 billion euros, and that these additional allocations will cost the state another 66 billion dinars.

"With this additional support, we reach the amount of about 5.7 billion euros, which is 12.2% of our GDP. So, the state will set aside 36 billion dinars for 60% of the amount of the minimum wage for two months, while the postponement of taxes and contributions on wages for one month will cost us around 30 billion dinars," Mali pointed out.

He added that it is expected that at the beginning of next week, at the session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, a legal act will be adopted which will clearly define the continuation of direct assistance for businesses.

"We will try to make this process as easy and efficient as possible, so that everyone can get their money as easily as possible," he said.

He added that he is proud that Serbia is one of the few countries in the world that can boast of such support for the economy.

As he concluded, with this huge support so far, Serbia has shown that it is a true partner to the economy, and that businesspeople and employees can rely on the state in the most difficult moments.
