Until recently, the National Stadium could only be seen on television when President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic showed it on TV Prva, and now the photos (renderings) are also available on the Telegraf portal.

The Ministry of Finance provided us with images where you can see what the facility where the Serbian national football team will play its matches will look like, but according to Vucic, it will also have other benefits.

A few years ago, there was only talk of building a stadium that should be located near the Milos Veliki highway and the Belgrade-Surcin highway exit.

Although the public procurement for making its design is currently suspended, according to B92, the plan is to start building the stadium next year.

"Steel on the outside, wood and natural materials on the inside," explained Vucic, who also said that "the stadium will be expensive, but also more beautiful than the Allianz Arena in Munich."

It is estimated that it will have 55,000 seats, which will make it the largest Serbian stadium, since Red Star's Rajko Mitic has a capacity of about 53,000 seats.

The original intention was to start the construction of the facility worth 250 million euros this year, but the coronavirus pandemic disrupted everything, and it was postponed until 2021.

The stadium will be more modern than all previous and existing ones in our country, which is also evident by the space for parking and access roads.

President Vucic called the football facility an "essential need" that will bring both sporting and commercial benefits, because it is expected that price per square foot around the stadium will immediately jump by at least 1,000 euros from the current 850-900.
