Prime Minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina Avdullah Hoti has said that the Pristina delegation is meeting with representatives of Belgrade in Washington "only for the sake of mutual recognition."

Hoti reiterated from Washington for Klan Kosova TV that mutual recognition is the only formula for normalizing relations, although Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has warned that if the issue of recognizing Kosovo's independence is put on the table at a preliminary bilateral meeting, the one on September 4 won't happen at all.

"We are meeting with Serbia only because of mutual recognition, we are not meeting for other things. On the advice of our international friends, in this case the United States, we are sitting down to agree on an agenda of economic cooperation, but it's all for the purpose of normalizing relations, which means mutual recognition," Hoti stressed.

He also pointed out that there is no other formula, which, as he added, has been clearly made known from the first day of work of the government of the temporary Pristina institutions, Kosovo Online reported.

"At the summit in Paris, as well as in communications we've had with the main centers in the EU, but also in the US, we said that mutual recognition is the only solution for normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. I believe that such an approach is now completely clear to our international friends," said Hoti.

Grenell: Economic topic on Thursday, no one knows about second day

"Only economic issues are will be on the table on Thursday, but I agree with the statement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that no one knows which issues will be discussed on Friday and what will happen on Monday," special envoy of the US president for Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Richard Grenell said in online conversation with a group of journalists from Albanian media, the Washington Post and the Tanjug agency.

This was his reply when asked whether one of the topics of the upcoming meeting between the delegations of Belgrade and Pristina will be mutual recognition.

"This is one of the problems we constantly face - that the public and politicians look at this process only in a one-sided manner," Grenell said.

"We will see what will happen on Friday, what will happen on Monday," the US official added and pointed out that the process is a matter of creativity, not of science.
