Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed for RIA Novosti that President Vladimir Putin has apologized to President Aleksandar Vucic because of an inappropriate Facebook post by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova.

According to RIA Novosti, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told the Serbian public service that Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov apologized for Zakharova's post related to a Serbian delegation's recent visit to Washington.

Peskov confirmed this for RIA Novosti.

Vucic said that he had an "excellent telephone conversation" with his Russian colleague.

Yesterday, President Aleksandar Vucic said that President of Russia Vladimir Putin, in addition to Lavrov, apologized for the inappropriate post Maria Zakharova published on Facebook, and told him that the Russian state was not behind it, and especially not him personally.

"Putin, as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov, never apologized to me for anything, but they both did it for something like this, without me even bringing it up," Vucic told RTS.
