Slovenia will introduce a curfew from 9 pm to 6 am starting on Tuesday, announced Minister of Internal Affairs Ales Hojs.

The ban on gathering of more than six people will also come into effect, instead of the previous limit of 10, STA reports.

Hojs added that the ban on movement between the regions is still valid, with certain exceptions.

In the last 24 hours, 537 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Slovenia - 20.4 percent of those tested, which is why the government decided to go for new measures.

The government of Slovenia officially announced the epidemic of coronavirus for the whole country on Sunday evening, which will last for 30 days.

This means that the national protection and rescue plan has been activated, but no additional restrictive measures have been announced, STA said.

According to the Slovenian agency, in accordance with the regulation on the 30-day epidemic, adopted on the basis of the law on infectious diseases, the same measures will be applied in the country as before.

Government spokesman Jelko Kacin told RTV Slovenia that there would be no changes concerning workers, students and others, except that all employers are invited to organize remote work, if possible.
