Sparks are flying once again between Croatia's president and prime minister, Zoran Milanovic and Andrej Plenkovic. Every now and then, they respond to each other's provocations through the media, and so Milanovic today commented on Plenkovic saying that had been sowing hatred four years ago.

"How was I sowing hatred and aggression in 2016? I want to know so that I can apologize," said Milanovic.

Asked to comment on the prime minister referring to him as "an arsonist and a firefighter," the president said:

"He spent a lot of time on croissants in Brussels and Paris, so it's probably harder for him to come up with something witty to say, but we must laugh. That means he holds me responsible for that attack. These are terribly serious accusations. We are not arguing, I offer limited solutions, while the prime minister is behaving like a heroic rabbit who decided to convene the Homeland Security Coordination, which is some para-body, designed during the former president's term, probably just to make sure Kolinda would not be sitting on it," the president said.

"I could also convene SOA (Security-Information Agency) chiefs and generals and contribute to greater chaos in Croatia, but I will not do that. I think the prime minister is doing a lot of acting. He's mentioning a sanitary cordon. MPs are not cattle, they are not sources of infection. Miroslav Skoro can be this and that, but he is not a terrorist. We cannot use such vocabulary," said Milanovic.

"By saying that I am a 54-year-old 'snorter', the prime minister alluded to me being a cocaine addict. That inspiration came from the cesspool of the internet. I have respiratory problems, I have allergies, but only a lowlife can mention something like that. I can't even afford cocaine," said Milanovic.

He also said that he did not go to the town of Ilok by helicopter, referring to reports that he took a helicopter to go the funeral of Josip Manolic's wife.

"It was foggy, so we didn't fly. But I would tell the prime minister to fly off."
