Serbian FM Selakovic meets with China's Chen Bo: Enriching a comprehensive strategic partnership

Mutual satisfaction with extraordinary overall extraordinary relations between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China and readiness for further enrichment of the comprehensive strategic partnership were expressed during the conversation

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selekovic received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Serbia Chen Bo.

Ambassador Chen extended her cordial congratulations to Minister Selekovic on his taking over the duty of the mister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Serbia and expressed confidence that the newly appointed foreign minister would continue to make an outstanding contribution to further improving the overall relations between Serbia and the People's Republic of China.

"With cordial greetings from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, she delivered a congratulatory message, which was sent to Minister Selekovic by the State Counselor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi, for which Minister Selekovic especially expressed his gratitude, recalling the open invitation to the Chinese minister of foreign affairs to visit Serbia," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

The conversation expressed mutual satisfaction with the extraordinary overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China and readiness for further enrichment of the comprehensive strategic partnership.

It was stated that, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the cooperation between the two countries has been additionally improved and the continuity of the political dialogue at the highest level has been preserved.

Selekovic congratulated China on the successful fight against Covid-19 and reiterated his gratitude for the overall assistance of the Government of the People's Republic of China, Chinese provinces and companies, and especially for the huge help of the Chinese people to Serbia.

Opinions were exchanged regarding improvement of overall cooperation, through intensifying the political dialogue and exchange of visits at the high and highest political level, while mutual support was reiterated on issues of national interest for the two sides.

It was agreed to further intensify cooperation within the Belt and Road initiative, as well as the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism (17+1), to which our side attaches great importance.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the upward trend of economic relations between the two countries and pointed out to significant potentials for their further intensification.
