Mali announces: Belgraders will be able to use the first metro line in 2028

A Serbian delegation is visiting France these days, and one of the key topics is the construction of the Belgrade metro, which should start by the end of the year.

Serbian Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali made statements about this several times, including yesterday on Instagram after a meeting in Paris with the French Minister of Transport and Energy Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, announcing that Belgraders will be able to ride the first metro line in 2028.

He added that he spoke with the French minister about the project of building the Belgrade metro, in which French companies Alstom and Egis are participating.

"We are proud of this project, which will completely change the face of Belgrade and Serbia! Initial works in Makisko Polje will start at the end of the year, and Belgraders will ride the first line i4n 2028," Mali wrote on his official profile on the popular social network.

The Serbian minister of finance spoke while in France several times, via Instagram, saying that France is "an important partner to our country" especially bearing in mind that their companies will work on the project of building Belgrade's subway.
