Disturbing video from Ibar highway: Van made a turn over solid white line, causing terrible accident

A horrific scene showing a motorcyclist crashing into a van turning at full speed over a solid white line was filmed on Wednesday by a security camera in Stepojevac, on the Ibar highway.

As can be seen in the video, the driver of the van intended to make a semicircular turn in that spot.

Halfway through the turn, the motorcyclist driving towards him did not manage to slow down and crashed into the van at full speed.

The next scene is the one where everything stops, the motorcyclist is lying on the ground, while people who found themselves nearby run to help the unfortunate man.

The video was posted on Facebook by the president of the Association for Safety of Motorcyclists, Dr. Vladimir Jevtic, who told Telegraf that there is no official information about the event yet, but that it is important to urge drivers to consider if they can pose a threat to someone before taking any action in traffic.

"The point is to show that motorcyclists are a vulnerable category and risk of getting injured or dying up to 45 times higher than car drivers," he explained.
