What it's like when Serbia's National Assembly member starts speaking Chinese: "You'll all get this"

A young people's deputy (MP) from the Serbian Progressive Party started his speech in Serbian, only to finish it a few minutes later in Chinese

A young MP from the (ruling) Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Luka Kebara, spoke Chinese - and no less and no more than in the Serbian parliament, where he started his address in Serbian, and then finished it in this, not-so-widely spoken language in our regions.

He also educated his fellow MPs on how to pronounce the name (of Sebian president and SNS leder) Aeksandar Vucic in Chinese, who, Kebara revealed, "is known in China as Wu-qi-qi".

"Which, in translation, means 'five, seven, seven'," he explained.

Kebara then continued his speech in the Serbian Assembly in Chinese, and then said something "that we will all understand" - but continued in the same tone with the mention of "Wu-qi-qi."

Otherwise, the Assembly of Serbia on Wednesday started the debate on draft laws regarding ratification of three international agreements.

These concerned ratification of the Agreement between the Governments of Serbia and China on mutual recognition of the AEO Program of the Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance of Serbia and the Credit Management Program of the General Customs Administration of China, the Agreement on Investment Promotion between the Governments of Serbia and the United States and cooperation in the field of implementation of priority projects in Serbia between Serbia and France.
