The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has raised an indictment against five defendants for the insidious murder of Bojan Mirkovic (34) that took place on November 12, 2020, in the garage of a building in the Belgrade neighborhood of Belleville. All the accused are charged with the criminal offense of aggravated murder, the spokesperson for the prosecution, Ivana Rakocevic, specified for Tanjug.

If found guilty of this crime, they could be sentenced to at least 10 years in prison, with life in prison being the maximum penalty.

The accused are Bojan Kovacevic, Ivan Nikcevic, Lazar Tejic, Dusan Kozuh and Filip Ivanovic.

Tejic, who is suspected of being the direct perpetrator, is also charged with the criminal offense of illicit production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosives.

The indictment has been sent to the Higher Court in Belgrade that should confirm it.

All the accused were arrested ten days after the murder, and remain in custody.

The investigation against them was conducted on suspicion that Kozuh, Tejic, Kovacevic and Nikcevic, according to a previous agreement, participated in the murder of Mirkovic.

As was announced after their arrests, Kozuh informed Tejic about the exact movements and location of Mirkovic before the murder, using a phone for encrypted communication.

Ivanovic, who is a Montenegrin citizen, is charged with intentionally helping to commit this crime by promising Tejic that he would hide him after the murder.

It is suspected that he did that on November 23, 2020, when he tried to transfer Tejic to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in a car.

Mirkovic carried fake documents issued to another name with him during the murder.
