Three accidents in Cacak's Sloboda defense industry plant have damaged households that are in the immediate vicinity of the factory. A city commission is assessing the damage, while residents of the village of Pridvorica are still afraid of the unexploded ordnance that landed in their fields and yards.

The property of Ljubivoj Boricic in Pridvorica borders the factory grounds of Sloboda. Plenty of shrapnel, grenades and parts of other weapons were found near his house, in meadows and orchards, reports RTS.

Boricic says that the authorities inspected the property and told him that it was safe to cut grass manually.

"I cut some for the pigs and found grenades and shrapnel. I don't dare to cut any more, not with a scythe nor with anything else, there's still plenty of that in the grass," added Boricic.

Less than 200 meters separates the factory grounds from the Slavkovic household in Pridvorica. Missiles also landed there.

"There were two on the roof, two in front of the house and one large chuck of a mine. A soldier came and picked it up and took it away," says Stevan Slavkovic.

Citizens who suspect that unexploded ordnance is located in arable land are urged to report it to the police or the City Emergency Headquarters.

"The Police Administration will tell its officers to visit the place, mark (ordnance) so that deminers or specialized units of the Ministry of the Interior can come later and remove it," said the head of the Cacak City Emergency Headquarters, Bratislav Zecevic.

They also advise citizens not to approach or try to move suspicious objects until expert and authorized personnel come to the scene and remove any kind of danger.

Earlier this month, Cacak was hit by a series of explosions originating in the Sloboda factory, which also resulted in several injuries.
